Mplanet was boss!
I was fortunate to be able to attend the Mplanet conference in Orlando, and it was one of the best conferences I've ever been to! The speakers were top notch. As President-Elect of the Rochester Chapter, American Marketing Association (RAMA), I had several motivations for attending. First, to learn about the best-in-class marketing and innovation that is being practices, and second, to network. I wasn't disappointed.
The meeting was kicked off by Dennis Dunlap, CEO of AMA. Dennis set the stage for the event, explaining that they had some great speakers for us. Dennis was
followed up by Randall Stephenson, COO of AT&T. Randall talked about a future product, AT&T U-verse. This is a really cool service that offers TV, Internet, and voice over IP in one package to consumers.
Another great session was a round-table discussion, Connecting Marketing Metrics to Financial Consequences, with David Reibstein from the Wharton School, Cammie Dunaway, CMO of Yahoo, and Paula Sneed, EVP Global Marketing from Kraft Foods. Paula had a few comments which I captured in the video here.
The roundtable session was great too. One thing I learned from this session that the primary sources of shareholder value are shifting from tangible to intangible assets (such as brand equity). This was a great learning experience for me.
Was anyone else there? What did you think?
