RAMA Collegiate Scholarship Competition
Announcing: 2007 collegiate scholarship awards
The Rochester Chapter of the AMA, which has doubled membership in the past three years from 116 to 279, is proud to announce that we are accepting applications for our collegiate scholarship awards. RAMA has built a strong relationship with five universities in the area, and currently has 120 student members in our chapter. This program is designed to increase their visibility by providing a scholarship to a student studying marketing in the Monroe County, New York area.

- Scholarships will be eligible to marketing students who belong to a RAMA collegiate chapter.
- One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a member from each collegiate chapter.
- Awards will be paid directly to the student.
- The RAMA board will serve as judges for the competition.
- Awards will be paid in June to the recipients.

The Scholarship Program:
Eligibility:
- The scholarship is available to undergraduate or graduate students who are members of an AMA collegiate chapter affiliated with RAMA, attending a secondary education institution (2-year or 4-year college/university) located in the Western NY area. Proof of enrollment will be required. This is a non-need based scholarship.
- Students must be 18 years of age or older as of May 1, 2007.*
- Void where prohibited. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
- Directors of RAMA and their immediate families and those living in the same household are not eligible to participate or win.
To Enter:
Complete the PDF application and return the entry by May 1, 2007. To be valid entries must be filled out completely with the correct identifying information. Limit of one (1) entry per student. Multiple entries may result in disqualification.
**RAMA is not responsible for lost, or misrouted entries, or any other errors of communication whether mechanical, human, electronic or otherwise.
Award:
An applicant from each of the RAMA collegiate chapters who had students who applied will be selected. Each winner will receive the same amount, which is expected to be a minimum of $500 merit-based scholarship to a local academic institution to help with academic related expenses. This scholarship is payable directly to the student.
Selection:
A committee comprised of members of the RAMA Board of Directors will review the applications. From time to time the RAMA Board may enlist the help of other RAMA collegiate committee members who are involved with the RAMA collegiate chapters. No late applications will be considered; applications must be submitted by May 1, 2007. The decision of the committee is final; once a winner is selected there is no appeal process and no second place awards.
Criteria to be considered:
- Activities/involvement with RAMA and your respective collegiate chapter.
- Leadership experience with RAMA and your respective collegiate chapter.
- Clarity of the justification for the award in the application, presented logically and coherently, with attention given to spelling and grammar.
- Creativity.
- Evidence of desire and enthusiasm to pursue a career in marketing.
Conditions:
- By applying for the scholarship, applicants agree to be bound by these rules and the decision of the committee, which is final.
- Additionally, the winners will be invited to attend an awards ceremony as RAMA's guest.
- The scholarship is to be used for academic expenses.
- The scholarship will be paid directly to the student.
- Entries are the property of RAMA.
- By applying the applicant consents to our use of his or her name and photo.
- Additionally, the winner must attend and award ceremony as RAMA’s guest.
- The scholarship is nontransferable.
- Taxes, if any, are to be paid by the student.
* Non-US citizens that are awarded the scholarship may have to pay U.S. taxes to their home country, or prove where the funds are used. RAMA is not responsible for providing other government agencies with details of scholarship usage by non-U.S. citizens.
Announcement of the Winner:
The name of the winner will be posted on our website, and press releases will be made to the local media.
