Tell us a little bit about yourself! Where do you work? What do you do? Where are you from?

I grew up in Syracuse and attended undergrad at Syracuse University's Whitman School of Management '19. In 2017, I made the short trip down the thruway to Rochester, NY, which I've called home ever since. My first job out of school was with Digital Hyve - a startup at the time that taught me everything I needed to know while always giving me the support and freedom to learn while still being ME. I've recently made the jump across the enterprise to Butler/Till as a Project Manager. I love to hike with my husband - we have a pup and a cat - both of whom are too lazy to hike but happy to play fetch in the house at only the most inconvenient hours of the day.

How did you get involved with AMA Rochester?

I had been involved in AMA in college and always looked to local organizations to dedicate my time to - AMA | Rochester was a great fit for me, and I'm ecstatic to be a first-year board member!

Tell us about your role on the AMA | Rochester board, and what your responsibilities include.

As the VP of Chapter Operations, I do my best to ensure our organization is chugging along smoothly. Organizing meetings, ensuring ease of communication, and following up on action items between monthly board meetings are some of the many things that take up my board "day-to-day."

Why is AMA | Rochester important to you, and how does it benefit the community?

I see AMA | Rochester as a great way to make connections where they may not organically occur. I look forward to reaching communities that may be underserved in terms of Marketing Representation.

Tell us about yourself outside of work and AMA. What are your hobbies? What topics do you enjoy? Any fun facts to share?

I love to read (all over the map in terms of genres and topics - some of my favorites include The Overstory by Richard Powers, The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune, and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern).

Much like my literary preferences, my musical choices span classical, rap, pop, alt, and country - if you've got any good music recs I'm all ears.

I love to hike! I have three Adirondack High Peaks under my belt and intend to knock increasingly more off each year- maybe even becoming a '46er!

Fun fact- I did Irish Step Dance for eight years when I was younger

Why did you originally enter the field of marketing? What excites you about the marketing industry?

I love the socio and psychological aspects of marketing. I took a bunch of SOC classes in college and found the connection between those and the motivators to get people to purchase a product to be increasingly interesting. I LOVE people - marketing seemed like an industry where interfacing with peers would be high-touch and that was something that appealed to me as well. And I mean who doesn't love a snappy tagline?!

What are some of your favorite things about the greater Rochester area?

There's always something to do! Local music, breweries, clubs, etc. AND WEGMANS!
